ISAAC Buckley-Ricketts netted twice as Warrington Town stretched their unbeaten run in National League North to six matches with a superb win at Curzon Ashton on Saturday

And their fourth victory of that run allowed them to pass their pre-season target of 50 points - considered the theoretical target for a side aiming to stay in the league - with 13 games still to play.

And as a result of their 3-0 triumph at Tameside Stadium, Yellows climb two places on the ladder to 10th and now sit only two points outside of the play-off spots.

While the first half was about Yellows being clinical with their chances, the second was all about rearguard resolve as their 3-0 success provided some revenge for a brace of home defeats to Curzon in the league and FA Cup earlier in the season

Although the referee did attempt to make the encounter all about him, with eight yellow cards shown in total.

It is a considerable scalp for Mark Beesley's men, with this being only Curzon's second loss in their past 10 league games.

Incessant rain made the pitch more difficult to play as the game wore on, but Town had got themselves in charge before the interval against the hosts, who started the game six places above Yellows.

Connor Woods created the first goal for Buckley-Ricketts and bagged the second one himself – two great finishes seven minutes apart at the back end of the first half.

For the opener, Woods slid the ball through for Ricketts to fire low into the left corner in the 35th minute.

Then Woods glided past three Curzon defenders and slotted into the same corner for 2-0.

Yellows could easily have had another in between as Buckley-Ricketts checked back inside the six-yard box and created a chance for debutant Kacper Pasiek, who fired narrowly wide.

The hosts did plenty of pressing in the second period but found the Town defence in stubborn mood.

And the icing on the cake came a minute into added time when a great through ball by Jay Harris allowed Buckley-Ricketts to run onto it and slot past the keeper to take his goal tally for the season to 13.

It allowed Town to start a gruelling run of seven games in 28 days in fine fashion, and that schedule could stretch to eight depending on the rearranged date of their trip to Peterborough Spots - Yellows were meant to travel south on March 9 but they will have to find a midweek date due to the Turbines' progress to the FA Trophy quarter-finals.

Beesley's side are back in action on Tuesday night as they make the long trip to Spennymoor Town.
