ADAMAH Sidibeh was once again Warrington Rylands’ late hero this afternoon.

This time, the frontman for the fourth game in a row struck in the dying minutes to rescue a point for Blues against a Basford United side who arrived having lost eight of their nine Northern Premier League Premier Division matches.

Rylands had fallen behind just after the hour mark through Remaye Campbell’s opener, but Sidibeh ensured they did not fall to a first home loss since the opening day of the season.

While Michael Clegg’s side stay second, the result did allow Radcliffe – the only visiting side to win at Gorsey Lane this campaign – to extend their lead at the top to nine points.

The Blues boss was not too disappointed with his side’s showing but once again highlighted their lack of a clinical edge to turn one point into three.

“We’re frustrated not to get three points,” said Clegg, who gave debuts to new signings Djavan Pedro and Joe Adams.

“There weren’t too many bad performances – they came and defended well but we should have scored a couple more goals.

“We kept the ball really well and defended extremely well – they had two shots from what I can remember and scored a goal.

“We had a couple of goalmouth scrambles, but we have to dust ourselves down and move on.

“We know what Adamah is capable of – he’ll hit the back of the net if we give him chances. He played in a bit of a different role today as we were experimenting.

“There were good performances all over but we just needed that next pass and next cross.

“We live to fight another day and we look forward to going to Bradford Park Avenue next week. We’re playing well, but we have to start converting some chances.”
