MARK Beesley says there will be changes to his Warrington Town side today as they round off a gruelling Bank Holiday schedule.

Yellows will look to bounce back from Saturday’s defeat at Boston United when they welcome unbeaten Curzon Ashton to Cantilever Park this afternoon.

Two games in a little over 48 hours is a test for any squad, let alone one as stretched as Town’s is at present but Beesley insists he is keen to move things around.

“We will make changes as we have to freshen things up,” he said following Saturday’s loss in Lincolnshire.

“We’ve asked a lot of the players over the past few weeks as we haven’t had much chance to rotate and move things around.

“How much we actually can do is another matter but there will certainly be one or two changes.”

As Beesley alludes to, scope for alterations remains limited – midfielder Bohan Dixon serves the final game of a three-match ban today while fellow engine room stalwart Jay Harris (groin) and skipper Josh Amis (knee) remain injured.

Matty McDonald (knee) will continue to be assessed but Jordan Buckley and Andy White will be pushing for starts having returned from injury off the bench on Saturday.

The restoration of White in particular at left-back saw Town look more dangerous and Beesley admits his absence from the past three games with a foot issue has been very keenly felt.

“We’ve missed him as that natural left-footer,” he said.

“The back four have been good in the past few weeks and at times, they were good today but when you’re behind in a game and teams want to sit in their shape, you need that width to get in behind teams.

“We’ve missed him but hopefully that’s him back now.”

Today, Town face a Curzon Ashton side who will be full of confidence having ended promotion favourites Scunthorpe United’s unbeaten start to the campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 victory at Tameside Stadium.

That result extended their own unbeaten start – they have won two and drawn three of their five games so far.

Kick off this afternoon is at 3pm.
