DARYL Powell departs Warrington Wolves having taken charge of exactly 50 matches.

It has now been confirmed that Sunday’s defeat at Wakefield Trinity – the 29th since Powell took over – was his final game as head coach, with the club announcing his departure by mutual consent.

Since taking over ahead of the 2022 season, Powell has overseen 21 victories, the last of which was a 30-26 win over Huddersfield Giants last month.

That gives him a win ratio of 42 per cent, which is tied with Daryl Van de Velde. Only Steve Anderson and David Plange have departed with lower win rates in charge of Warrington.
