WARRINGTON Town could mathematically secure their Northern Premier League Premier Division play-off place this afternoon.

Yellows, who are third and unbeaten in 20 matches, welcome Ashton United to Cantilever Park today looking to solidify themselves further in the promotion race.

Here is how the table looks going into today's matches

Warrington Guardian:

Given yesterday’s games saw a defeat for Hyde United – the closest current challengers for a top-five spot – against Morpeth Town, a win for Mark Beesley’s side today would all but seal their place no matter what happens elsewhere. They would then just need a point from their remaining three matches to be absolutely certain.

However, there is a way it can be done today – a Town win coupled with defeats for both Radcliffe and Gainsborough Trinity would secure a top-five place.

Both of those sides are on the road today – fourth-placed Radcliffe are at struggling Liversedge while fifth-placed Gainsborough travel to mid-table Lancaster City.

Given Radcliffe and Gainsborough play each other on April 15, at least one of them will drop points and would therefore be unable to catch Town.
