FRESH from picking up arguably the best result of their season to date, Mark Beesley is hoping his Warrington Town side can harness the momentum gained and take it forward.

As their tricky run-in now takes them on the longest away trip of the campaign, however, he is wary of what lies ahead.

Despite having Sean Williams sent off inside the first minute, Town managed to pull off a superb 1-0 victory over play-off rivals Bamber Bridge at the weekend thanks to Bohan Dixon’s late winner.

The win kept them third in the Northern Premier League Premier Division table and prolonged their current unbeaten run to 16 matches.

There are eight games remaining as Yellows bid to first secure a play-off spot and then as high a position as possible.

Beesley’s side make the mammoth 350-mile round trip to Morpeth Town on Saturday, kick off 3pm, to face a side who have been dragged into the battle to avoid relegation after a poor campaign to date.

Fresh from signing a new two-year contract at Cantilever Park, however, the Town boss is taking nothing for granted.

“You’d like to think it will give us momentum, but every game is so important now,” he said.

“This league is a tough, tough league – we go to Morpeth next who have been up there with the stand-out teams over the past few years.

“They’ve had an indifferent year but if they turn up on the day, it will be as tough a test as any.

“We’re hoping Saturday’s result and performance breeds confidence and momentum, but it’s important we take each game as it comes.”

Williams will now serve a three-game ban after being shown a straight red card on Saturday, ruling him out of the Morpeth game, the following week’s trip to Radcliffe and the home game against Liversedge on March 25.

Aside from that, though, Beesley has a fully fit and available squad to select from after skipper Josh Amis returned from a back injury as a substitute at the weekend.

“Saturday was the first time we’ve had to leave somebody out of the squad,” he said.

“We will obviously lose Willo for three games now but aside from that, everybody is fit.

“We’ve got a small squad but it’s a good, close-knit group.

“They’re all going to be important to us – we’ve got a suspension to deal with now but whoever comes in will have to be ready and they are.”
