IT’S time to unleash “Mr Predictor” – our brand new, in-house Super League tipster.
Here’s how he reckons Round Three will go…
LEEDS RHINOS VS CATALANS DRAGONS
Two sides in desperate need of a win, with Leeds zero from two while Catalans squeaked past Wakefield in Perpignan last time out having been convincingly beaten by Saints in the opener.
Both are missing key players through either injury or suspension and I reckon this one will be tight, but I think the Rhinos will just edge it.
Prediction: Leeds by 2
WIGAN WARRIORS VS HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS
Both teams have looked pretty handy in the opening weeks and whoever wins this will top the table for 24 hours at least.
Somebody’s perfect record has got to go and I reckon it might be Huddersfield’s. Danny Levi being banned is a big blow for them even with Will Pryce available again and I think Wigan may just have too much for them.
Prediction: Wigan by 10
HULL KR VS CASTLEFORD TIGERS
Castleford are still getting to grips with new head coach Lee Radford’s methods and judging by their showings in the first two rounds, it may take them a bit longer yet.
Rovers too need to get their season off the ground having been the neutrals’ darlings last year and I think they will do so in this one.
Prediction: Hull KR by 8
ST HELENS VS WAKEFIELD TRINITY
Saints look like they will be the standard setters once again this year – can anybody stop them?
A tough run for Trinity having to visit both of last year’s Grand Finalists in consecutive weeks, but I can’t see anything other than a convincing home win here.
Prediction: St Helens by 20
HULL FC VS SALFORD RED DEVILS
What a start to the season Salford have had – they look a team rejuvenated under new boss Paul Rowley this year.
They will smell blood against an FC side that will be without skipper Luke Gale for the next five games through suspension, and I think Marc Sneyd – the man he replaced in the black and white number seven shirt – could cause his old club some pain.
Prediction: Salford by 10
TOULOUSE OLYMPIQUE VS WARRINGTON WOLVES
Toulouse have gone about trying to fill the void left by Mark Kheirallah by bringing in Olly Ashall-Bott at full-back from Huddersfield and he will no doubt make a difference in time if they can keep him fit.
However, I’m expecting Warrington to win comfortably and make it three from three under Daryl Powell.
Prediction: Warrington by 24
