TOBY King and Jack Hughes are set to miss Warrington Wolves' opening Super League game at Leeds Rhinos.

King was a surprise omission from the Wire squad for Stefan Ratchford's Testimonial match, which Daryl Powell's men lost to Wigan Warriors this evening.

In his post-match press conference, Powell confirmed the centre had been nursing a knee injury through pre-season and will miss the trip to Headingley in a fortnight.

Powell also ruled skipper Jack Hughes out of contention as he continues to recover from wrist surgery.

"Toby King, we’re looking at Round Two or Three potentially," he said.

"He’s just coming back from a knee injury which is an issue he’s had for most of pre-season but the signs are positive for him at the moment.

"Jack Hughes will be after Round One. He’s had wrist surgery and his rehab is progressing but we’re still waiting on confirmation of when he’ll be available."

Powell also confirmed Mike Cooper would be fit to face the Rhinos after missing tonight's game through illness.
