READER'S LETTER:
ARE there any plans in the area to commemorate the life of perhaps our most famous and successful of rugby players?
Bobby Fulton was a phenomena, able to win games on his own talent.
Warrington should (in my opinion) recognise this and place a memorial plaque or even a statue to remind folk that we produced perhaps the greatest English rugby league player.
We shouldn’t allow his life to be unrecognised in his birthplace.
Furthermore, it’s a remarkable fact that Fulton and Alex Murphy were born within a few miles of each other, and became legends. Where else could claim that?
One last point, in which part of Stockton Heath was Fulton born? I have family still there and we would all like to know.
Perhaps the Guardian could start to raise a campaign to honour the greatest ever rugby league player?
