IN horrendous conditions, Warrington RUFC produced a controlled display to secure a dominant home victory on Saturday.

They ran 11 tries past Orrell – the North Two West’s bottom side – as they continued their impressive run on their own turf in what was their final home game of the year.

Having lost at home to Keswick on the opening day of the season, Warrington have now won each of their past five games at Grappenhall Sports Club.

JP Hudson ran in a hat-trick of tries, with skipper Josh Downes touching down for a brace which included the game’s opening try in the early stages.

Ben Dixon, Chris White, Tom Green, Phil Lynch, Jonny Evans and Ollie Hudson all scored a try each as Warrington kept their spectators entertained despite the shocking weather.

Hudson also added a conversion to his three tries, with Matt Beeley kicking two goals in the first half.

Warrington are due to travel to Cockermouth on Saturday before wrapping up 2021 with a trip to Keswick on December 18.
