HOME is turning into a bit of a fortress for Warrington RUFC.
Saturday’s 35-20 victory over Winnington Park was their fourth in a row on their own turf as a strong start and finish earned them victory.
Ryan Eastwood’s try and a Matt Beeley penalty got them off to a flying start and although the visitors narrowed the gap with two penalties of their own, Tom Green’s powerful drive saw him cross the whitewash before half time.
After the break, JP Hudson scored a try and kicked a penalty to seemingly put the hosts in full control, but two tries and a penalty for Winnington Park saw them close to within three points.
However, Jamie Abram’s fine individual try extended the advantage again before Phil Lynch rounded off the scoring by finishing off Josh Downes’ break.
Warrington’s next game sees them travel to Bolton on Saturday.
