WARRINGTON RUFC bounced back to winning ways on Saturday.
A strong first half proved decisive in securing a 22-7 home win over Tarleton while they showed their defensive grit to restrict their visitors late on.
Matt Beeley’s penalty opened the scoring before a dominant Warrington scrum led to prop Christian White crashing over for the game’s first try.
White was on the scoresheet again in similar fashion shortly afterwards, powering over after good work from skipper Josh Downes, Dan Fleming and Johnnie Evans had got them close.
Beeley added the extras for a 15-0 half-time lead and after a tight third quarter, a break from Downes found JP Hudson in support for Warrington’s third and final try.
The hosts had to see off some pressure and had a try ruled out themselves before Tarleton did have the final say with a converted try late on.
Warrington’s next game sees them travel to De La Salle on Saturday, November 13.
