WARRINGTON Wolves could be without both of their recognised hookers against Salford Red Devils on Saturday.

With Daryl Clark already ruled out with a stomach injury, The Wire also have a fitness concern over Danny Walker, who has an ankle problem.

If Walker is not fit to play, Steve Price is set to have to play someone out of position at nine, but what are his options?

Here's a look at some potential solutions...

JASON CLARK

When Walker succumbed to his injury at Magic Weekend, Australian forward Clark finished the victory over Wigan Warriors at dummy-half.

He featured there on a couple of occasions during his time at South Sydney Rabbitohs – his first-grade debut back in 2009 saw him come off the bench to play hooker.

MATT DAVIS

Davis has featured at hooker a few times in a Wire shirt and would certainly be in contention should the need arise here.

STEFAN RATCHFORD

The veteran's career has seen him feature in every position other than prop forward, so playing hooker would certainly be nothing new to Ratchford.

It would, of course, create a vacancy at full-back – one Matty Ashton would likely be favourite to fill.

BLAKE AUSTIN

Austin has not featured in the past three games, but could this be his way back in?

In saying that, George Williams is on stand-by with the birth of his first child thought to be imminent, so it may be that he is needed to slot into the halves.
