COLIN Bishop had a busy and fruitful week in Warrington Athletics Club colours.
The masters athlete competed twice in three days but on both occasions, he was able to secure an age group victory in the over 60s category.
On Wednesday, he ran his first road race in 12 months – a five-mile event in Birkenhead – and came home 28th overall in a time of 30mins 3secs.
He followed that up on Friday at the Park Hall 5k, where he finished 24th overall by completing the course in 18mins 2secs.
Elsewhere, Mervyn Ward's medal-winning form continued, following up British Masters bronze with Northern Masters silver.
Running in the track 5,000m, Ward finished in 21mins 29.6secs to take second spot for the over 65s age group.
Further afield, Dave Norman managed to win the over 60s age group at the Helena Tipping Wrexham 10km road race despite a sore hamstring.
His time of 40mins 34secs was good enough for 130th place overall.
