THE present is looking pretty rosey for the newly-promoted, newly-crowned FA Vase winners Warrington Rylands.

And if this group of junior players is anything to go by, the future looks pretty bright, too.

The club's under 14s are celebrating a trophy of their own after beating off opposition from professional clubs such as Rochdale and Oldham Athletic in the North West Junior Premier League.

Goals from Matty Dodd and George Robinson helped them win their play-off final 2-0 against PFA Stockport, with Jack McGlinchey putting in a man-of-the-match display.

Their exploits caught the attention of first-team manager Dave McNabb, who was quick to tweet his congratulations.

The play-off win qualifies the team for regional finals and they are also progressing in their national cup having beaten Oldham's development team 2-0 last week.

All of this has come in their first season in the Junior Premier League having played in the Warrington Junior Football League previously – they won last season's Premier Division on points-per-game after the campaign was cut short due to the pandemic.

They had also reached the county cup semi finals until the competition was null and voided by the Liverpool County FA.
