CAN Warrington Wolves succeed where Huddersfield Giants, Salford Red Devils and Featherstone Rovers have failed?

Today’s opponents Hull FC have enjoyed a perfect start to life under new head coach and former Wire full-back Brett Hodgson, impressing in their two Super League wins and progressing serenely to the Challenge Cup quarter finals.

As The Wire make the trip to the KCOM Stadium, this will no doubt be their toughest examination of the season to date and the same is true of the Black and Whites.

After falling woefully short against Castleford Tigers, authoritatively dismissing Leigh Centurions and making heavy weather of Challenge Cup foes Swinton Lions, Steve Price believes today’s game will give the biggest indicator yet as to where his side are at.

“The competition has only been going for three rounds so it’s only early days, but they are the form team everyone has been talking about,” he said.

“Brett has them going well. They seem a tight-knit group and they’ve got some handy players.

“We’re looking for a strong performance against a quality team in Hull. It will be a good test to see where we are at present.

“We feel we’re ticking along nicely but there’s a few areas we need to get better at.”

“As a club, we’re excited for that challenge and we can’t wait for Sunday.”
