A YEAR of inactivity ends tonight for Latchford Albion.

After the easing of restrictions surrounding outdoor sport, the team returns to training at Victoria Park this evening and will train on the facility's new 3G pitch when it officially opens next month.

Subject to final approvals, friendly fixtures could be arranged for the end of April with a league season beginning from May 8 – subject to any government changes.

Albion only managed to play once in 2020 before Covid-19 brought the season to an early conclusion.

During lockdown, head coach Martyn Ellis kept the side together with regular Zoom calls, with events ranging from online training to quizzes to keep spirits up.
