WARRINGTON Wolves were unable to find a way back after Hull took a grip in the second half of tonight’s play-off eliminator.

Hull’s 27-14 victory at The Halliwell Jones Stadium means they head to Wigan in the semi-finals next Thursday.

Wire trailed for long periods and Chris Satae’s score for Hull four minutes into the second half left them with a mountain to climb at 19-8 adrift.

But Matty Ashton’s second try, the first converted by Stefan Ratchford, got Warrington back within five points with 28 minutes remaining.

Marc Sneyd’s 69th-minute penalty though left The Wire needing to score twice.

And then Jake Connor struck from a ball-steal on Widdop with three minutes to go.
