THERE was drama aplenty for Warrington Hockey Club men’s seconds as they travelled to Deeside Ramblers.
The sides scored seven goals between them, but Warrington emerged on the right side of a 4-3 scoreline.
After going behind early, Warrington roared back with four goals thanks to Iain Richards, Rob Powell, Gavin Brown and Lovey Kang.

Deeside dragged them back to come within a goal of sharing the spoils, but Warrington held on.
“Two league wins for a team who is really coming together and developing,” a delighted captain Noal Phillpotts said.
“The lads made me proud.”
The women’s firsts continued their winning streak and clean sheet run with a 2-0 win at Neston’s thirds.

After their league game was cancelled due to Covid-related issues, the men’s firsts organised a friendly against their counterparts from Bebington, who ply their trade two divisions higher up the pyramid.
Warrington acquitted themselves excellently, however, as goals from Ben Vickers and Douglas Samuels ensured a creditable 2-2 draw.
The women’s seconds entertaining a strong Timperley fifth team and while they defended resolutely throughout, they fell to a 5-0 defeat.
