The sides scored seven goals between them, but Warrington emerged on the right side of a 4-3 scoreline.

After going behind early, Warrington roared back with four goals thanks to Iain Richards, Rob Powell, Gavin Brown and Lovey Kang.

Deeside dragged them back to come within a goal of sharing the spoils, but Warrington held on.

“Two league wins for a team who is really coming together and developing,” a delighted captain Noal Phillpotts said.

“The lads made me proud.”

The women’s firsts continued their winning streak and clean sheet run with a 2-0 win at Neston’s thirds.

Carrie Wright converted a short corner after good work from Meg Sutch while the other goal came courtesy of Steph Quayle.

After their league game was cancelled due to Covid-related issues, the men’s firsts organised a friendly against their counterparts from Bebington, who ply their trade two divisions higher up the pyramid.

Warrington acquitted themselves excellently, however, as goals from Ben Vickers and Douglas Samuels ensured a creditable 2-2 draw.

The women’s seconds entertaining a strong Timperley fifth team and while they defended resolutely throughout, they fell to a 5-0 defeat.
