How good was it to see the young @WarringtonRLFC lads put in such a fantastic display tonight. 10 of the 17 have played in the Academy supported by @WarrWolvesST and @WWRLFoundation plus 3 of the @SalfordDevils side.

They were brilliant tonight, all things considered- so much talent. Be under no illusions, they’ll be hurt by losing that and will come back even stronger than ever which is scary (but great for us!) The cubs became Wolves tonight alright 👍👏 @WarringtonRLFC

Hard to criticise such a young 13, keep there discipline a bit better in the 2nd half they may have gone on to win. Having said that, what a performance from them. No ego's, massive effort all over, lot of skill. The future is bright for @WarringtonRLFC...#SLSalWar

All positive for @WarringtonRLFC tonight, some of those youngsters were outstanding, Riley Dean has a big future as do Thewlis and Doro.

Warrington Wolves head coach Steve Price said:
"I thought Dec Patton, Danny Walker and Matty Davis were really solid throughout tonight. They held the glue together.
"It was just unfortunate that we just couldn't build any momentum into our offense at the back end of the second half.
"I thought it was nice footy creating space for Riley Dean over on the right-hand side for Nathan Roebuck’s try.
"He's only a young bloke, just come through the Academy and hasn't played a game all year and was thrown in, I thought he was great.
"I thought Josh Thewlis was another one who had a really solid game as well."

Fans' reactions to the performance on the Warrington Guardian's Facebook pages:
Mandy Smith: All of those young lads should go home extremely proud of themselves tonight- they way they played, the way they carried themselves, the way they stuck it out. Awesome effort !! It was a pleasure to watch and I hope we see a lot more of all of them in future games.
Paul Ryder: It was a really good performance and you could really see the young legs running around Salford for a while. Looked a bit tired towards the end. Not surprised as they ran their legs off.
No way through for Riley Dean. Picture: Mike Boden
Lorna Ellen Carson: Well done young uns could see they were disappointed they will get better and better, let's hope they play again soon.
Christopher Gregory: Brilliant effort, strong future ahead well done lads
Brian Carney: Superb effort , the future is very very bright for Wire
David Dunn: Absolutely brilliant performance and a credit to the club unlucky result I felt we ran out of steam in the last 20 but when the chips are down they stood up to the challenge keep them together pricey the future is bright
Rob Oakes: Better than watching the first choice team
Al Worrall: What a shame that result was. Fantastic display from the youngsters. Nerves and inexperience got the better of them second half but absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Thewlis was exceptional. Longstaff, Doro and Riley Dean look good too. Decent leadership from Patton. Great entertainment regardless of the result. They all wore their colours with pride and were worthy of it. The future looks primrose and blue. #COTW
Josh Thewlis touches down for Wire. Picture: Mike Boden
Jimmy Orford: I feel we got to cocky and let ourselves down second half. 3 trys missed,we should of won that game. Never learn, constantly offside!!Nothing to be smiling about. We have a decent squad that was capable of winning. These are the game we need to win. Hopefully we can pull it together for Saturday.
John Knox: Let's be honest we were the better side. Young enthusiasts lads against a strong Salford side. Not disgraced. Gave 100% . Lot of positives to gain from this
