FORMER Warrington Wolves half-back Morgan Smith has earned himself a move back to his native Yorkshire.

Smith, who has spent the past two seasons with London Broncos after leaving The Wire in 2018, will join ambitious Championship outfit York City Knights for the 2021 season.

The former England Academy international is the latest in a raft of impressive signings for the Knights, who have also secured Wakefield forward Danny Kirmond and are rumoured to be close to completing a deal to bring ex-Wire star Ryan Atkins to the club.

Knights coach James Ford said: "I'm very excited to work with Morgan and help him kick on and fulfil his potential.

"I was very impressed with his maturity, intelligence and drive to be the best he can be. I'm confident he'll fit right in and help us progress in the direction we're aiming."

Smith made 25 appearances in all for The Wire after making his senior debut in 2016, scoring two tries.
