BEFORE Friday, it was just over five years since Stefan Ratchford lined up at loose forward for Warrington Wolves.

Famous for his versatility, Ratchford has found a home at full-back in the Wire side but with his regular pack depleted, Steve Price asked his captain for the night to step in at the back of the pack.

He did so with aplomb, kicking five goals to pass the 1,000 point mark in a Warrington shirt and making an impressive 48 tackles.

In his post-match press conference, Price said Ratchford had put his hand up to play "the Logan Swann role."

High praise indeed, given the New Zealander's excellent two-year spell with The Wire in the early 00s.

Joining from Bradford ahead of the 2005 season, Swann scored 20 tries in 52 appearances before heading back to his homeland to join New Zealand Warriors.
