A NEW experience awaits many of Warrington Town's players on Saturday.

In a change to the original pre-season schedule, Yellows will be facing League Two side Tranmere Rovers at their Prenton Park ground.

For many of Paul Carden's men, it will be the first taste of playing on the Football League ground.

Initially, Town were due to face Runcorn Town on Saturday but Carden is now looking forward to the challenge of facing his former club.

They head there for the third behind-closed-doors game of their pre-season campaign, but this clash presents playing opponents a fair few steps up from the ones they have faced so far.

Second-half goals from Josh Amis, Jack Mackreth and Jordan Buckley earned Yellows a 3-0 victory at North West Counties League side Irlam on Tuesday.

Last Saturday left-back Tom Warren secured a 2-2 draw with North West Counties League outfit Skelmersdale United.
