FORMER Warrington Wolves winger or full-back Jack Johnson has left Widnes Vikings.

No new destination club has yet been announced for the 24-year-old, who remains best of pals with a number of his one-time Wire teammates.

Recently he has posted a number of pictures on his Instagram account of a visit to the Lake District with The Wire's Tom Lineham, Toby King and Matty Davis.

Johnson joined Vikings ahead of the 2020 season from Featherstone Rovers, having left Warrington Wolves after progressing through their Academy system into the first-team squad.

He started 2020 as one of Tim Sheens’ first choice wingers, featuring in all seven fixtures before the cancellation of the Championship campaign.

Johnson scored five tries in that period, which included Vikings’ first try of the season away to Oldham on his second debut for the club after having spent a short spell on loan with them from Warrington in 2017.

A number of Vikings players have signed for new Canadian outfit Ottowa Aces, but it is yet to be seen if Johnson is following them.
