THE son of Warrington Wolves legend Mike Nicholas has followed in his father’s footsteps by pulling on a Wales representative jersey.
Morgan Nicholas, who plays for Latchford Albion, made his debut for Wales Dragonhearts – a community representative side – on Saturday.
He came off the bench to help the Dragonhearts to a 26-20 victory over South of England Lionhearts in Neath.
Consistently strong performances in an Albion shirt throughout the season led to a call-up to the North Wales Origin squad, which then led to him being brought into the national side.
He was joined in the squad by former Latchford player Matty Drinkwater, who was head coach of the North Wales side and formed part of the Dragonhearts backroom staff.
The younger Nicholas will hope to be involved in the next Dragonhearts fixture against Lithuania in Cardiff on Sunday, November 10.
His father won six caps for Wales while with The Wire, for whom he made 152 appearances.
