A FINE performance in goal from Thomas Lloyd helped Warrington Hockey Club’s men’s first team deliver victory at Bowdon.
Some fine saves from Lloyd helped Warrington hang on for a 2-1 after the hosts had pulled a goal back with six minutes to go.
Second-half strikes from captain Jordan Penfold and Ben McFadden had earlier put the visitors in control.
The women’s firsts were beaten 2-1 by Bowdon, with Steph Rawlins on the scoresheet for Warrington, while both second teams were beaten – the men lost 3-1 to Runcorn while the women were hammered 10-0 by an experienced Chester side.
