WARRINGTON Wolves Women are set to play their Championship play-off semi-final at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
The Guardian understands Lee Westwood’s side and the fourth-placed outfit in the Women’s Championship will face off at the home of The Wire on Sunday, October 6, subject to confirmation.
It would be the second time the Wire Women, who usually play their home games at Victoria Park, will have played at the Halliwell Jones – they faced the Army women’s rugby league team in a friendly which acted as a curtain-raiser to Wolves’ Super League clash with St Helens on June 28.
The Women’s Championship Final will be played on Saturday, October 12 – the same day as the Super League Grand Final – at the Manchester Regional Arena, which is outside Manchester City FC’s Etihad Stadium.
The Wire have already sewn up the Championship Shield but have one more regular season game to play – they visit Huddersfield Giants on Sunday, kick off 2pm.
