EAGLE RUFC kept up their winning start to the Halbro Division Four West by edging out Christleton at Thornton Road.
Having beaten Northwich’s thirds 75-17 in their opener, this proved an altogether tougher task for Eagle as they were forced to hold on for a 13-12 victory.
Despite being forced onto the back foot for much of the first half, the hosts went into the break with a 10-7 lead thanks to tries from Danny Evans and Simon Banks.
Danny Cahill stretched the lead just after the interval with a penalty and despite Christleton reducing the deficit to just one point, Eagle were able to hold on for victory.
The Thornton Road men travel to Wallasey on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
