WARRINGTON Cricket Club will play in Division One of the Cheshire County League next year.

They confirmed promotion with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Barrow on Saturday and will now aim to secure the Division Two title.

They will do just that on Saturday if they beat Lindow at Walton Lea in their final game of the season.

Barrow were restricted to 100 all out batting first, with Liam Heaphy and Jono Fletcher taking three wickets each.

Warrington reached their target with plenty to spare, with skipper Ashley Scholes hitting a half-century.

The thirds are also closing in on their league title after beating Macclesfield on Saturday.

Chasing a victory target of 214, Warrington slipped to 40-4 but a century from Umer Zeb led them to a four-wicket win.

The seconds were dismissed for just 48 at Urmston as they were hampered by injury and illness, with the hosts chasing down the total for the loss of three wickets.

The fourths posted 137-5 from their 40 overs against Hartford, with Howard Sellers scoring 56, but their opponents reached their target for a five-wicket victory.
