The hosts reached their target for the loss of just one wicket, which fell to Josh Hayes.

The seconds dominated their Neston counterparts but were held to a draw after Graeme Rowlands (74) and Steve Rooney (53) led them to 203-9 from 50 overs. Neston closed on 90-7 and held out for a share of the spoils.

The thirds posted 222-8 batting first against Sale, with Ben Clissold blasting an excellent 77 but the visitors sealed a five-wicket win in the final over.

The seconds played out a high-scoring draw with Neston’s fourths as they could not quite reach an imposing victory target of 256 despite a century from Dave Hurst.
