IT is back to league action for Warrington Wolves Women on Sunday as they take on a promotion rival.
Lee Westwood’s side host second-place Leigh Miners Rangers in the Women’s Championship, with the game kicking off at 2pm at Victoria Park.
Victory will take third-place Wire above their visitors and they go into the game in good form after a 60-6 crushing of the Army women’s team on Friday.
Playing at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the first time ever, they brushed aside a game Army side in a game that acted as a curtain-raiser to the Super League clash between The Wire and St Helens.
Skipper Roxy Murdoch led by example as she scored a hat-trick of tries, including a superb individual effort for the first score of the game.
Danielle Bound also scored twice for Westwood’s side, while Michelle Davies added a try and three conversions.
Amy Daniels, Charlotte Hill, Rebekah Wilson and Rowanne Smalley were also among the try-scorers for The Wire.
