WARRINGTON Athletics Club’s under 15s girls have been reflecting on their silver medal team success in the Cheshire Cross Country Championships.
Orla Gregory was first home, clinching an individual bronze medal, followed by Jess Connolly, fourth, and Eva Ferris, 11th.

“I feel very good but tired,” said Gregory.
“The course was tough, very hilly and uneven in places. We’ve done this event before, but not this course.”

Connolly added: “It was mucky in places as well.”
Their medal success was reward for the hard work they are putting into the sport.
Gregory said: “On days like this it does feel all the effort in training is worthwhile.”

And Connolly, while casting her eye over to the hills, joked: “Sometimes I do question why I do the sport, but other than that it’s all good.”
