BEN Garrity has the potential to play "at a very high level," says his Warrington Town teammate Rob Evans.

Having been plucked from playing local league football in Liverpool, Garrity has taken to the semi-professional game like a duck to water.

He has scored twice this season and his energetic, intelligent displays have been instrumental in Yellows' excellent first half of the campaign.

Garrity has struck up an excellent midfield partnership with Evans, who is only three years his senior but has played at the highest level of non-league football.

The duo have been the heartbeat of Yellows' side this year and Evans says he admires the way his partner has stepped up to the task.

With plenty of time on his side, Evans also believes Garrity has it within himself to climb the footballing pyramid.

“Usually, there is always one midfielder who likes to play football and doesn’t want to get stuck in and another – which is usually me – who gets the second balls, wins headers and tackles before playing football,” Evans said.

“To have two of us who do the same kind of job, it makes things so much easier.

“If I’m in trouble or out of position, I know for a fact Ben will cover me and vice versa.

“We’re the same kind of player. We both want to work hard for each other and for the team so it works well for us.

“I’ve played in the Conference for four or five years and you wonder how some of the midfielders are actually at that level.

“This is his first club where he’s getting paid to play, but to do what he’s done so far is very impressive.

“If he can carry on what he’s doing, I don’t see why he can’t play to a very high level.”
