Lymm 10 Hull 56

A CLASH with in-form league leaders Hull would have been a tough assignment under any circumstances.

When you add 19 first-team injuries into the equation, however, it is easy to see why Saturday would have been an uphill struggle for Lymm.

Their horrendous luck with player absences meant head coach Adam Fletcher was forced to call upon players from the second and third teams – who were forced to concede their fixtures – to fill his squad.

The gap proved too much to bridge as Hull took full and ruthless advantage of their hosts’ shortcomings at Crouchley Lane.

They ran in 42 points before the break, with Cormac Nolan’s penalty being Lymm’s only reply.

Two more converted efforts followed after the interval before the home side dug in and showed their fighting spirit.

No more points were conceded and they had the final word when James Kimber’s break saw him shift the ball for James Pitcher to score.

Fletcher’s side travel to Ilkley on Saturday, kick off 2.15pm
