LEAGUE leaders Rylands will be seeking to return to winning ways at Eccleshall on Saturday.

They drew 0-0 at Oswestry in the Hallmark Security League First Division South on Tuesday, when Steve Boothman was sent off late on for two bookable offences.

Rylands, in keeping a third successive clean sheet, were saved by the crossbar in the 39th minute.

Jay White netted a 'true' hat-trick as Rylands sent Barnton packing 5-0 on Saturday.

His three-in-a-row included the game's sublime 41st minute opener in which he turned and took on two defenders 25 yards out, before unleashing a drive that flew in to the top corner.

He made it 3-0 by chasing on to threaded passes before being replaced in the 68th-minute, after which Steve Boothman and Tom Croughan finished things off.

"Barnton came into the game in a great run of form, so to be 5-0 winners is an excellent result," said player-manager Stuart Wellstead.

"Scoring just before half time was key and helped us settle the lads for the second half. I'm absolutely made up for Jay on grabbing his first hat-trick for the club. Hopefully he can continue his good form.

"I was happy with the way in which we defended and to have back-to-back clean sheets for the first time this season is a great feeling."

Rylands: Graeme McCall, Elliott Jones (Jack Woolley 72), Steve Boothman, Gary Kenny, Chris Lester, Liam Moran, Warren Gerrard (George Riley), Ste Wolhuter, Jay White (Tom Croughan 68), Stuart Wellstead, Nevil Picton.
