THE womens’ first team at Warrington Hockey Club kept free-scoring Runcorn at bay and recorded a superb victory.

Facing a side that had scored 25 goals in their previous two games, Sally Froggatt gave Warrington the lead before some outstanding Tracy Jackson saves kept Runcorn out.

Tammy Finlayson and Jo Nordovics then scored within five minutes of each other to seal a 3-0 victory.

The men’s first team faced a strong Keswick team away and a combination of good goals and bad luck saw them lose the game 8-3, with Ben Vickers, twice, and Adam Garrod scoring the goals for the visitors.

Both second teams were on the end of defeats, with the men losing 4-2 at Mossley Hill and the women going down 2-0 to Triton.
