Moore 24 Anselmians 2nd 34
DESPITE leading at half-time, Moore’s first game after last year’s promotion ended in defeat at Moss Lane.
The hosts got off to a good start, with Mike Barr crossing early and Sam Craven slotting a penalty.
Barr and Latham Parry also got themselves on the scoresheet before the break, with Craven notching another conversion.
However, Anselmians stayed in touch and trailed by four points at the break before coming out reinvigorated after half-time.
They scored twice before a Craven penalty got Moore back to within five points to put them in a good position to secure a losing bonus point.
A late try denied them that privilege, though, and they now must recover in time for a trip to neighbours Lymm Kestrels on Saturday.
