RYLANDS have been thrown out this year’s FA Vase competition, the FA have confirmed.
Blues have been removed from the competition along with fellow North West Counties League newcomers Wythenshawe Town due to the clubs not meeting the minimum ground grading criteria for entry.
The deadline for installing floodlights at Rylands Recreation Ground in time for Vase entry has passed and the FA have acknowledged neither side should have been accepted into the draw.
The two clubs were due to meet in the first qualifying round on Saturday, with the winners due to face Hemsworth Miners Welfare in the next round on September 15.
Hemsworth will now be given a bye into the first round proper.
The Guardian has approached Rylands FC for a comment on the situation.
