ONE caution and three bans have been handed out by the RFL’s Match Review Panel following The Wire’s 34-20 win at Hull KR on Friday night.

Sitaleki Akauola has already served two bans this season but has escaped a third for raising his knee in a tackle while carrying the ball.

The incident in question involved Rovers forward James Greenwood in the 44th minute of the game at Craven Park, but the panel deemed it worthy of just a caution as Akauola’s knee did not make contact with the tackler.

Greenwood is one of three Hull KR players who have been handed penalty notices, with his being a one-match notice for Grade B dangerous contact on Stefan Ratchford.

He is said to have “forcefully twisted, bent or otherwise applied pressure” to Ratchford’s limbs “in a way that involves an unacceptable risk of injury.”

Mose Masoe has been charged with a similar offence, but his 38th minute contact with Daryl Clark has been deemed worthy of a Grade C charge and a two-match penalty notice.

Danny McGuire will also serve a one-match ban after being handed a Grade A charge of “deliberate or reckless physical contact with a match official.”
