AN ankle injury is keeping Ben Westwood out of the Wire team for tomorrow's trip to Hull Kingston Rovers.

The veteran forward was a surprise omission from Steve Price's 19-man squad for the game at Craven Park, but the reason for his absence has been revealed.

Warrington say Westwood has had an issue with his ankle for a number of weeks and that the time has come to take him out of the firing line.

Westwood has been ever-present for The Wire so far in 2018 and recently passed 500 career appearances.

Bryson Goodwin is also missing with a knee injury, with Ben Murdoch-Masila (leg) still not ready to return.
