CHRIS Hill has escaped a ban after being cautioned by the RFL’s Match Review Panel following Friday’s defeat at Wigan Warriors.
The Wire skipper appeared to place his forearm into the face of grounded Warriors forward Gabe Hamlin in the act of getting up from a tackle.
Referee Chris Kendall penalised Hamlin for interference and from the resulting set, Tom Lineham scored Warrington’s second try.
Upon a closer look at the incident, however, the panel deemed Hill was not able to see Hamlin and thus it was not worthy of a charge.
Warriors half-back Sam Powell was placed on report during the game for a suspected “crusher” tackle on Daryl Clark, but he too has escaped further action.
Another player to receive a caution was Wigan’s Thomas Leuluai, who was cited for a sixth-minute instance of dangerous contact.
