STEVE Hilton had a night to remember at Warrington Road Club’s annual dinner and award evening as he picked up four prizes.

Hilton scooped the P Robertson trophy for the fastest 10-mile time trial by a club rider and also took the awards for the 25-mile and 50-mile time trials.

To round off his trophy haul, Hilton was also presented with the Ron Spencer Memorial Trophy for being the fastest club rider in the Memorial 25-mile time trial event.

David Wright picked up three prizes – the Veterans Championship trophy for the club veteran with the two best standard times over 10, 25 and 50 miles, the Ron Spencer trophy for the fastest 100-mile time trial and the club silver medal for the 100-mile distance.

The Dingsdale Perpetual Trophy, awarded to the rider who achieved the greatest average speed in 10, 25, 50 and 100-mile time trials, went to Ian Haddock, who also picked up a club silver medal for a 10-mile personal best of 20mins 52secs.

Finally, Paul Gibson capped a successful year in which he finished in the top six in nearly all of his races by picking up the Meadowcroft Trophy for the highest number of points gained in open races.

The club’s special guest for the evening was Lowton-based professional rider Richard Handley, who currently rides for UK Pro Tour team Madison Genesis.
