JORDAN Jones produced an excellent run to become Cheshire cross country champion on Saturday.

Over an undulating Delamere Forest course, Jones stormed to victory in the boys’ under 17s race to finish in 23mins 20secs, with his performance leading Warrington Athletics Club to a team silver alongside Joe Buckley and Jack Wadsworth.

The girls’ and boys’ under 11s teams went one better and picked up team gold, with Alice Nicholson’s time of 9mins 33secs enough to earn her individual bronze.
