SEVERAL sporting fixtures across the town have been postponed after Cheshire was hit by wintry weather overnight and through the morning.
Warrington Town's Evo-Stik Premier Division game against Stalybridge Celtic was subject to an 11am pitch inspection, but the referee deemed the Cantilever Park pitch unplayable.
Here is how the pitch looked prior to the inspection:

In the Cheshire Football League, Rylands and Eagle Sports have both had home games against Denton Town and Congleton VR respectively postponed.
The 'derby' between Moore United and Orford did not survive, neither did Grappenhall Sports' home game against Tarporley Victoria, but Daten's clash with Pilkington in League One does go ahead.
In rugby union, Lymm were on the road at Ilkley today but that Northern Premier fixture has also been postponed.
However, Warrington's home game with Rochdale and Eagle's clash with Old Bedians at Thornton Road both look to have gone ahead.
