FORMER Wolves forward Jerome Guisset is determined to get it right fourth time round when he appears for his hometown club Catalans Dragons against Wigan Warriors in the Carnegie Challenge Cup semi final at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on July 29.

He lost in Challenge Cup semi finals with Warrington against Bradford in 2000 and 2001, as well as Wigan in 2004, and believes the sour taste of those experiences could help achieve his goals this time.

The Perpignan 28-year-old, who had one year with Wigan after leaving Warrington, said: "When you know you're only 80 minutes away from a cup final it's something very special.

"So it is hard to make the semi final and give it everything you've got but not come up with the goods.

"Now, if we manage to give the goods for 80 minutes against Wigan I think we have a good chance of winning and be one of the first two teams to walk on the new Wembley ground in August, which would be fantastic."

Guisset's wife is from Warrington and they still have a home here, and he is hoping that Wolves fans will help to swell the Catalans support when they are in danger of being vastly outnumbered by Wigan fans at The Halliwell Jones.

He said: "I think everyone's giving everything to try and get the maximum support for us at the semi final.

"If we could get as much Warrington support as possible to help us reach the final it would be something wonderful and unbelievable.

"I used to get great support when I played for Warrington and still do when I play against them.

"Obviously, I played for Wigan as well but I haven't got the same attachment for Wigan as for Warrington.

"Half of my playing career has been played at Warrington and with that background it's probably a bit of fortune for us in terms of support that we're playing against Warrington's enemies Wigan in Warrington."

Warrington fans have enjoyed some superb trips to Perpignan during Catalans' two seasons as a club and Guisset said he is very proud of the barmy army.

"The Perpignan people absolutely love it when the Warrington fans come over.

"Warrington are the only team that bring something else to their stay in Perpignan.

"All the feedback I get from the people I know in town is that they're really happy with Warrington fans.

"Obviously, the fans are complementing the business of our town while having a good time but they're so well behaved.

"Everything is done in the right manner and I'm quite proud of that because of my Warrington links."
