PADGATE boxer Nathan ‘The Wire’ Wheatley’s career is set to take its next step when he fights for his first professional title.
The 28-year-old middleweight will take on Barnsley’s Ben Davies for the vacant Central Area title on Saturday, May 27, at Manchester’s Bowlers Arena.
This comes after Wheatley improved his paid record to seven wins from as many fights with a points victory over Chris Jenkinson.
The fight appeared on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s world lightweight title rematch against Jorge Linares on March 25.
“I won every round of the Jenkinson fight so I was pretty pleased with my performance,” Wheatley said.
“It was a pretty easy fight and I felt comfortable out there.”
