PADGATE boxer Nathan ‘The Wire’ Wheatley is to fight at the Manchester Arena for a second time next month.
The middleweight is set to fight an as-yet unnamed opponent on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s world title rematch against Colombia’s Jorge Linares on Saturday, March 25.
The fight will also see Wheatley step up to a six-round contest for the first time.
Wheatley also fought on the bill of Crolla and Linares’ last meeting at the same venue in September last year when he outpointed Dan Blackwell.
The 28-year-old’s latest challenge comes after picking up his sixth win in the professional ranks with a points victory over the experienced Kieron Gray in Preston on January 21.
Tickets for Wheatley’s fight are available at various prices and can be bought by contacting Nathan on 07818 542183.
Meanwhile, Orford’s Danny Craven faces his second paid bout tomorrow, Friday, as he takes on Rotherham’s Nathan Hardy at Manchester’s Bowlers Exhibition Centre.
Light-welterweight Craven enjoyed a spectacular debut at the same venue in November when he made short work of Latvian Aleksejs Grustans, stopping him inside the first round.
