WARRINGTON Hockey Club women's first team suffered a heart-breaking 2-1 defeat at home to Triton in Cheshire League Division One.

Emma Barlow put Warrington ahead after an incisive pass from Jayne Wood.

Tracy Jackson pulled off some outstanding saves and Carrie Wright cleared off the line before Triton equalised and then sneaked a late winner, sinking Warrington to a third straight league loss.

Ben Vickers went close to opening the scoring for the men's first team with a tomahawk shot over Blackpool's bar.

Warrington went behind to an own goal early in the second half and managed to pull level with an equaliser from captain Steve Worrall in their opening North West Men's League Division Four encounter.

The men's second team equalised against Horwich through a great individual goal from Adam Garrodd.

Richard Bloomfield kept Warrington in the game with some crucial saves but Horwich's experience at Division Five level shone through as they ran out 3-1 winners.

The women's second team lost 6-2 at Deeside, with Molly Rudd scoring two consolation goals.
