WOOLSTON resident John Stubbs MBE fell short of adding an individual archery medal to his team silver at the Paralympic Games in Rio.
The 51-year-old, a gold medallist at the Beijing Games in 2008, competed in the individual men’s open compound event yesterday.
He made it through the first round with a 139-135 victory over Thailand’s Methasin Chailinfa but was then beaten 137-129 in the last-16 by Australia’s Jonathon Milne, who went on to claim the bronze medal.
Earlier this week, Stubbs and teammate Jodie Grinham won silver in the mixed team open compound event.
