Caldy 33 Warrington 19.
WARRINGTON completed their preparations for the new campaign with a defeat at Caldy.
The visitors opened the scoring when Tom Arnold picked up a loose ball andscorched between the posts for a converted try.
But the lead didn’t last long as the well-drilled Caldy pack responded soon overwhelmed an inexperienced visiting defence with four unanswered tries before the break.
The visitors came out fighting in the second half and got a deserved score though when Ryan Preston strolled over after stealing a Caldy line-out.
Caldy re-established their authority with another try but Warrington had the last word when Josh Riley set up Jonny Evans to burrow his way over.
Adam Fletcher’s side begin their North One West season by making the short trip to St Helens to take on West Park on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
